The Story Behind the Cookie (and the Requests)

The Cookie Recovery Group was founded after a well-documented incident involving an award-winning coconut s’more cookie that was never intended to change lives… but did anyway.

What began as a single batch — thoughtfully crafted, responsibly shared, and tragically memorable — quickly escalated into repeated requests, calendar reminders, “just checking in” texts, and phrases like “any chance you’re baking soon?” This was not a coincidence. This was a pattern.

After years of informal observation, it became clear that these cookies did more than satisfy hunger. They created expectations, hope, and a dangerous belief that access was recurring rather than occasional.

The Cookie Recovery Group exists to address that reality.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple:

  • To support those affected by limited exposure to elite coconut s’more cookies

  • To normalize the waiting period between authorized releases

  • To manage expectations responsibly and humanely

  • To protect the baker from becoming an unpaid, full-time dessert provider

We believe cookies should be powerful — but not reckless.

The Cookie

Let’s be clear: this is not just a cookie.

This is a carefully balanced coconut s’more cookie, developed over time, refined through trial and error, and ultimately recognized for its excellence. Its texture, richness, and emotional impact have been known to cause:

  • Immediate joy

  • Lingering nostalgia

  • Strategic friendliness toward the baker

  • Annual birthday-adjacent optimism

Once experienced, it cannot be forgotten. And that is where our work begins.

Why We Exist

We noticed a troubling cycle:

  1. Cookie is shared

  2. Happiness spikes

  3. Silence follows

  4. “Hey, random question…”

  5. “Are you baking again anytime soon?”

Left unaddressed, this cycle leads to disappointment, entitlement, and unrealistic timelines.

The Cookie Recovery Group was created to gently remind everyone involved that legendary things are not meant to be easily available, and that scarcity is part of the experience.

Our Values

  • Boundaries
    Great cookies deserve structure.

  • Transparency
There is no standing bake schedule. There never was.

  • Patience
    Waiting builds character. And demand.

  • Occasion-Based Release
Birthdays, holidays, and rare alignments of the stars may qualify.

A Note From the Baker

This organization does not exist to deny joy — only to pace it responsibly.

If you’ve had the cookie, you’re already part of the story.
If you’re waiting for it again, you’re exactly why this site exists.

Thank you for your understanding, your restraint, and your continued belief that this might be the year.
